This cut out recipe is my most popular and classic flavor for creating my gluten free decorated sugar cookies.I have it labeled as Almond Vanilla, but that is the Traditional Sugar cookie flavor you know from making Christmas cut-out cookies. It has been time tested for more than 5 years. I've tried all sorts of variations and I always come back to this base. It's JUST RIGHT!
The cookie is soft and it's not crumbly, due to the sour cream. It's a well-developed, buttery flavor and makes you want to go back for another bite.
The baked cookies will stay fresh for up to two weeks if kept in a sealed container or bag. The dough may be kept wrapped in the refrigerator for a week and for 3 months in the freezer. Baked cookies, iced or uniced, can also be frozen for up to 6 months when properly stored in a sealed bag and container.
